| In Chinese saying, they say if you eat dragon balls you will come |
|
| back to life. In the Anime, Akira Toriyama took the idea of an old, Chinese |
|
| fable called "Journey to the West". The fable is about a hyper-active Monkey |
|
| King, named Seuin Oou Koung, who had to take a Buddist to a temple in |
|
| India while protecting him from danger. He's a strong monkey with human |
|
| habits. He can fly and transform into a complete human when ever he wants.
|
|
| Then, in 1984, Akira Toriyama decided to take the idea of the fable |
|
| and named it DragonBall. Then, he found out that he knew nothing about the |
|
| fable so he made up the story as he went along. Although, the characters, |
|
| Son Gokou, Tenshinhan, Yamucha, Kintoun (the somersault cloud), and |
|
| Kuririn were only things he didn't make up. This is how the DragonBall anime |
